MIKE BROWN DEFEATS WEC CHAMPION URIAH FABER!!

November 6, 2008

Man, what a night!!

Mike pulled off one of the biggest upsets in mma by beating an incredible champion in Uriah.

Everyone on our team knows how tough Mike Brown is, and to watch him pull it off on the biggest stage, in the biggest fight of his life , is truly an amazing experience to be a a part of. It is a a little clicheish, but this could not have happened to a nicer guy. If you know Mike and been around him you know what I’m talking about. Mike has put his life into fighting, and his body has all the battle scars to prove it. We are all just so happy for him.

I know everyone has been asking, Mike tore the cartilage in his ribs, not sure exactly at what point he did this in the fight, and not sure he even knows.

Much respect to Uriah Faber, who is a great great fighter and champion. Uriah and his camp are true class acts. He deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved as champ and has our utmost repsect.

Also, need to congratulate Carmelo Marrero. He stepped up short notice and gutted out a hard fought win over a very tough Steve Steinbeiss. We knew going in Steve has very good stand up and comes from a tough camp. Nice win for Carmelo who hung tough and pulled out the win. Congrats buddy!

And to Rafie Dias, who despite losing showed tremendous heart. Rafie was another guy who stepped up on a weeks notice to fight up a weight. Rafie showed he has the skills and heart, and hope he gets his chance to prove it at 145#’s. Keep your head up!

Mike put everthing he had into this fight. Dreams do come true!! We did it Mike Brown!!!

Mike didn’t get a chance but I know he wanted to thank his main sponsors TAPOUT and CHAMPION NUTRITION.  Those guys really stepped up for him and he is thankful!

We are proud of all our fighters performance!  Way to represent guys!

ATT’s Santiago Sengoku Middleweight Tournament Champion!

2008-11-01

Jorge “Jorginho” Santiago went to Japan with his eye on another Grand Prix Tournament Championship and he delivered!

Jorge first took on Sayir Baradurzada. Jorge ended this fight quick with a beautiful rolling heel hook to end the bout at 1:10 into the fight!

Jorge then prepared to face Kazuhiro Nakamura in the finals later that night.

Nakamura was up the first two rounds controlling the fight, but round three saw Jorge come out agressive. Jorge established his jab and then landed a big overhand right that dropped his opponent. Jorge quickly went in for the finish as he dropped heavy strikes on Nakamura untilt he ref put a stop to this one at 49 seconds into round three!

Jorge walks away as Sengoku Middleweight Grand Prix Tournament Champion!

Jorginho is on a tremendous streak staying undefeated in ’07 and ’08 and reeling off 8 straight wins and finishing every one of them. Inspiring performance by Jorginho!

Also on the card competing was Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal. Jorge was fighting a lightweight tournament reserve match against Seung Hwan Bang where he used his superior stand up skills to win a unanimous decision. Keep your eye on this exciting 155# as we  have some big things planned for ’09!

Also, great job by El Tigre who works with Jorge on his stand-up out of Young Tigers Gym in Miami.

Great job guys – way to represent!

ATT’s Thiago “Pitbull” Alves Front Cover Unrestricted Magazine!

July 3, 2008

Great news, as one of our own Thiago “Pitbull” Alves makes the front cover of South Florida’s Unrestricted magazine. Fresh off Thiago’s spectacular KO win over UFC legend Matt Hughes, Unrestricted decided to do a story on Pitbull and splash him on the front cover. Unrestricted covers the local professional and college teams such as the Miami Dolphins, Panthers, Heat, and Marlins so it’s a great statement to his success that he makes the cover.

ATT’s Thiago “Pitbull” Alves Defeats Former UFC Champion Matt Hughes!!!

June 8, 2008

Thiago put on a tremendous performance over the greatest welterweight Champion in UFC history.

Despite suffering a bad ankle sprain approx. 10 days out of the most important fight of his career, Thaigo was able to put that behind him and take out Matt Hughes with a flying knee in the second round. Pitbull looked very strong in the opening round stuffing Matts takedown attempts and landing solid strikes from on top. When he did get taken down he was able to avoid any damage whatsoever from the former champ. Round 2 saw Pitbull on the attack landing a beautiful flying knee follwed by stiikes on his downed opponent before referee Herb Dean jumped in to stop the contest at 1:02 of round 2.

In his post fight speech, Pitbull asked President Dana White for the right to fight for the title! After taking out top ranked Karo Parysisan and now former Champ Matt Hughes it looks like the next step for him.

It must be said that our team has a tremendous amount of respect for Matt Hughes and all that he has accomplished in this sport. He was a great Champion for many years and it was an honor for us to compete aginst him in the main event. Thanks to Matt for taking the fight. He is a champion all the way.

Fianlly, Big Congrats to Thiago on the biggest win of his career. He trained like a madman in preperation for this fight and we are so happy that everything worked out for him. CONGRATS PITBULL WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU!!! ATT!!!!!
